Then: Carthage Library, c 1875. Identities of ladies and girls unknown.

Now: 506 S. Main as occupied by the Independent Living Store in 2005

Then: A memorial to World War I veterans, this structure was dedicated in 1924. Plaques inside the entrance lobby list the names of Carthage's World War I soldiers killed during the war.

Now: Facade of Memorial Hall, 2006. Foreground monument honors local World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War soldiers killed while in service.
