This collection of newspapers represent the full expenditure reports for Jasper County government published either as the major portion of the single newspaper edition or as a multi-paged (usually 8—13 pgs) separate section to a very small (usually four pages of local news). County reports seem to be in better condition than first section/page of newspaper. Several of latter need archival tape or encapsulating to be used for exhibition purposes.

All regular news portions of the papers were copied on acid free paper and articles filed by subject in the Carthage Vertical Files at the Powers Museum. Consideration should be made to microfilm news sections and the county reports on microfilm as they do not exist in this format at the Jasper County Records Center.

Information and length varies by report but includes all county bills and employees, miscellaneous warrants, special road district reports, school bond loans, almshouse fund and other county divisions and receipts such as corporation taxes, court bills, etc.
