Information on using this finding aid, online resource
This page contains an ever-expanding guide to processed archival collections held by the Powers Museum. Although the MHRAB is no longer awarding access and processing grants, the Powers Museum is committed to adding to the collections presented here as staff and volunteer time allows other collections to be processed and/or converted to on-line exhibits or other types of finding aids. As part of the museum's participation in a new Teaching American History Grant administered by the Southwest Center for Educational Excellence and Missouri Southern State University, digitized documents will be added to this finding aid and/or the Powers Museum Web site throughout 2005–2008. Please check back often to view new offerings.

In the meantime, if you have a research subject that is not represented by any of the following collections or sub-groups, please do not hesitate to contact the museum by phone (417-358-2667), mail (PO Box 593, Carthage MO 64836) or e-mail regarding your topics. Information and access to other non-processed collections can be made by prior appointment. And if the Powers Museum does not hold the materials you are seeking, we often can make suggestions where to find the materials you are looking for, especially if they involve the local area.

Prior appointment necessary for use of all archival collections. This material is not available for walk-in, on-demand use. Consultation by phone or email prior to your visit, will result in a more successful research visit and allow museum staff to prepare materials and also a work space for your use on site.
