Carthage Bank Quarterly Financial Statements May 1918 - August 1927 Scrapbook These scrapbooks created by the Bank of Carthge, hold the quarterly financial statements of various local bank operations for three months as printed in various newspapers. Additional penned notations, addition of figures and occasional newspaper articles about the Bank of Carthage are in the margins as well. Pages have been removed from damaged covers, interleafed and numbered within acid-free file folders in archival boxes. The Bank of Carthage, First National Bank, Central National Bank and Union Trust are followed in the 1927-1940 grouping as Carthage National Bank merged with Bank of Carthage in the early 1920s. The grouping from 1941-1955 refers only to the Bank of Carthage and Central National Bank since the Union Trust had been assumed by the Bank of Carthage early in the Depression and the First National Bank merged with Central National Bank. Statements include partial listing of bank staff or directors, usually President and Secretary but some articles pasted on pages have full board member listings for the various banks. Notary Publics are mentioned, too. The earliest scrapbook in the listing also contains a Jasper County government financial statement for 1918 on the inside cover.
