Start of Exhibit Record 1/75 Catalog Record All Team Images Exhibit Page Home Search Description  Black & white print of Carthage baseball team player George Alves of Oakland CA posed swinging baseball bat on ballfield and in Carthage Cardinals uniform. Position: shortstop, right fielder. Released by Cardinals 6/4/1946 after a brief tryout then went to Ogden UT for Pioneer League and Bartlesville OK for KOM League team there. In 1947 played in Newark OH in Ohio State league and Muskogee OK in Western Association. In 1948 played in Texas League with Houston TX team.
